Learn the Skills

We use an industry-recognized training curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Research & Education (NCCER). 

Our program will teach you the core skills you need to confidently enter the trades. 

 

In our workshop, you will learn:

  • Safety & First Aid

  • Construction Math

  • Construction Drawings

  • Tools & Construction Material 

During on-the-job learning, you will gain experience in with large and small projects include home repairs and renovations, handyperson and maintenance projects, and even new building construction.

Get the Support

Many people deal with life challenges that can get in the way of pursuing a good career. 

 

We will help you navigate these challenges by connecting you with resources to meet your needs, from financial and family assistance to mental health counseling.

 

Our program will include a peer-support network that is a tried-and-true way to ensure success in women's pre-apprenticeship training programs like ours.

We offer career development training to help you set yourself apart from the crowd, including:

  • Communication Skills

  • Conflict Resolution Skills

  • Job Seeking & Networking

  • Resume & Cover Letter Writing

  • Interviewing Skills

Land the Job

The first step to building a great career is landing a great job. At the end of training, we want our trainees to either:

  1. Get hired by a local construction employer or paid apprenticeship program

  2. Continue your education in whatever trade you're most excited about

 

We will help you get there by offering:

  • Networking opportunities with employers and tradespeople

  • Connections to community colleges to learn more about programs and resources

  • Resume building  and interviewing skills training

  • One-on-one career coaching
